Thomas McClyde Jr.

Thomas McClyde Jr. is a seasoned project management expert, educator, and founder of Clyde’s Guides and Consulting LLC. With a career spanning over two decades, Thomas blends real-world leadership experience with academic excellence to guide readers through the challenges of managing both projects—and the people behind them. Thomas proudly served in the United States Air Force, beginning his journey as an enlisted member and rising through the ranks to become a Cyberspace Officer. His military service was marked by a wide range of leadership roles, including Chief Information Officer, Contracting Officer Representative, Project Manager, Deputy Chief of Fielding, Program Manager, Deployed Commander, and Commander of a Recruiting Squadron. Whether overseeing large-scale deployments or navigating the complexities of government systems, Thomas led both successful initiatives—and a few that taught him even more. Each lesson, whether a win or loss, helped shape the insights shared in this book.

Welcome Aboard the CLYDE Method

CLYDE Method

Let’s be real—most project management books are sleep aids disguised as literature. But Clyde’s Guide to Project Management: Navigating RelationSHIPs is not that book. Written by a retired Air Force Commander and founder of Clyde’s Guides & Consulting LLC, this book jumpstarts your journey to actually finishing projects on time, under budget, and with your sanity (mostly) intact. It’s not your typical dry, jargon-filled manual. Instead, it’s a hilarious, real-world adventure through the chaos of project management, complete with characters who may or may not resemble real people in or out of uniform. If someone sees themselves in here—well, that’s on them. I’m not liable. You’ll learn the CLYDE Method: But here’s the kicker: it’s all about RelationSHIPs—those unpredictable, quirky, lovable (sometimes infuriating) humans you have to work with to get anything done. Projects don’t fail because of bad plans. They fail because of bad people dynamics—or worse, zero dynamics. You’ll laugh. You’ll cringe. You’ll probably recognize a few coworkers (and maybe yourself). Packed with real events, hysterical chaos, and leadership lessons in disguise, this book proves that even the most mismatched team can pull off something incredible. Buckle up. It’s going to be a wild, insightful ride.
